The MSHS Boys Swim & Dive team proved to be too much for Gladstone in yesterday’s dual meet and took the event with a final score of 87-79.
There were many season bests and some lifetime best times despite a less than ideal pool temperature.
The boys took one of three relays on the day with the win coming in the 400 Free Relay when the team of Alex Gooch, Robert Bell, Wyatt Clement, and Josh Nylanen crushed Gladstone with a time of 4:05.68 in the 400 Free relay.
Robert Bell was a double winner in two very close races (100 Free and 200 Free). Josh Nykanen also doubled-up by winning the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke. Additionally, Wyatt Clement came away with wins in the 200 IM and 500 Free.
It’s a very stressful time of the year with exams and the swimmers just coming off of their peak yardages for the season. With that in mind our swimmers had a great meet!
Marquette will next compete in Houghton for a dual meet on Thursday, January 24th. They will then end the regular season with two home meets taking place on January 29th (Kingsford) and January 31st (Ishpeming-Negaunee).
