The athletic training staff from U.P. Health System and U.P. Rehab Services will again be offering students the opportunity to undergo concussion baseline testing for the 2017-18 academic year. Testing will take place on July 25-26 in the MSHS Library Computer Lab (more information below).
All MSHS students considering athletics participation during the 2017-2018 school year are highly encouraged to undergo a baseline ImPACT Concussion Test. The IMPACT baseline test helps determine an athlete’s level of functioning before a concussion. If the athlete were to sustain a head injury during the sports season, the athletic training team can then go back to the preseason baseline test and compare it to the athlete’s function level at the time of injury. Returning athletes safely to play is the primary goal of the athletic training staff.
Cost of the test is $3.00 per student. Testing day/time details are as follows:
- Tuesday, July 25
- 9:30 AM – Freshman and JV Football
- 11:00 AM – Varsity Football
- Wednesday, July 26
- 9:30 AM – All Sports (session one)
- 11:00 AM – All Sports (session two)
